JUNIOR Class - ACT+ Writing Assessment
ACT+Writing Details - Tuesday, March 10th

On Tuesday, March 10, we will administer the ACT+ Writing which is a state-required assessment at Southside High School. Please review the information below carefully:

11th Grade Students:

  • Will take the ACT+ Writing.
  • Please arrive by 7:45 a.m. – testing will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
  • Bring your testing approved Calculator
  • No digital devices are allowed during testing (cell phones, earbuds, headphones, smart watches, etc.). Cell phones should be left in vehicles or lockers.
  • No backpacks, bags, food or drink will be allowed in the testing room. A snack or drink can be left outside the testing room but it cannot be in a bag of any of sort. Backpacks and bags must be left in vehicles or lockers. Students cannot access any type of bag or locker at anytime, including a break, while the test is ongoing.
  • Students will be able to turn in a parent note to checkout after the test is over.

Advanced Placement Interest Meeting
AP Interest Meeting - Wed., March 11th

📚 Interested in Honors or Advanced Placement (AP) Classes?

Students and parents are invited to attend our Honors/AP Information Night on March 11th at 5:30 PM in the Southside Biddle Auditorium. This meeting is a great opportunity to learn more about the benefits, expectations, and opportunities available through our Honors and AP courses.

Mr. Smith, our AP Coordinator, will be there to share important information and host a Q&A session to answer any questions you may have.

We encourage any student and parent interested in challenging coursework and preparing for college-level learning to attend. We hope to see you there!

Love science? Want to explore, learn, and connect with other curious minds? The Southside High Science Club meets monthly and hosts exciting Science Café nights in the LC at our Claws Out Café.

Each Café night features guest speakers who share their expertise, experiences, and passion for science.

Backpack Policy
Backpack Policy

Students are allowed to carry backpacks that are clear or mesh to classrooms. Any other backpack/bag must be stored in a locker that is assigned to the student. Students will not receive locker information until the first day of school in homeroom. They will have time to find their locker and store their belongings during homeroom.

First Priority Meets Every Wednesday
First Priority Wednesday Mornings at 7:15am

First Priority will meet on Wednesday mornings in the learning commons from 7:15 until 7:30. Bring a friend.
