Subject: English 11 and English 12

I am so excited about the opportunities to learn together. I work very diligently to make my classroom a vibrant, learning community. I am somewhat unconventional in my practice and primarily utilize the discovery/inquiry approach to teaching. I seek for the subject to come alive for my students and my students to come alive for learning! Each day is a new opportunity to learn. For each unit, I incorporate simulations and application activities for students to apply what they have learn.I absolutely love to be in the classroom and I hope all of my students will love it too!

"Sometimes questions are more important than answers." Nancy Willard

My Family

I am extremely blessed to have found love in the most amazing man, my husband Cliff Farabee; he is my best friend, a blessing from God and I enjoy spending every day and sharing life with him. We love sports, movies and music; we love church activities and engaging in community service as we enjoy the gifts God has given us. We share our lives with four wonderful, talented children who bring us great joy.

Sarah who is a graduate of Auburn and the Thomas Goode School of Law. She is an attorney who lives in Huntsville with her husband Phillip who is also an Auburn graduate and an electrical and mechnical engineer. Sarah is also an author whose first book's release date is October 2017.  Check out the link for a synopsis of her book Devils Within which has been named on the the "12 most anticipated indie YAs of the second half of 2017" by Barnes and Nobel.

Cole who is a 2011 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. and a graduate of Ole Miss - Hotty Toddy! He is a reporter/writer for Cox Media.  He is currently working on his first book. He is a great writer who loves sports, reading, music, and anything involving competition.
Evan who is a 2011 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. He is an OR nurse who graduated from my alma mater, JSU (Go Gamecocks!), and works at UAB. He loves sports especially football, golf and wrestling.

Emily who is a 2016 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School and just finished her freshman year freshman at Penn State. She is an Olympian, and an achondroplastic dwarf who inspires all with her determination.  She is on the para track and field team at Penn State,  has won several state and national championships in track and field, and hold several national records in para-ambulatory competitions. She is currently ranked in the top ten in the world in two field events and finished 9th in the world in shot put in Rio at the 2016 Paralympic Games. She loves competing and music.

I have blessed beyond measure with a great family and unbelievable friends who truly enrich my life.

My life so far has been a unique journey and I have truly learned that God’s will and timing is perfect.

"These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect." Hebrews 11:39-40
