Peer Helpers

We are excited to announce the Peer Helper Program on our campus. The Peer Helpers will be a group of select students trained to provide academic, emotional, and social support for their fellow students. Your understanding of the group’s purpose is crucial to our success! Peer Helper Programs have been implemented in many schools throughout the state and the nation in both public and private schools. We are looking forward to the moment you first see the positive influence these students will have on their peers.

Peer Helpers are a select group of students that are trained to support our school through various activities including new student welcoming, peer mentoring, and possibly tutoring. In addition, Peer Helpers will promote healthy choices through role modeling and hosting prevention campaigns about kindness over bullying, coping with stress, and more.
Please feel free to email us if you have any questions.

Thank you in advance for your support.

About us

Peer Helping is a variety of support services initiated by trained peers of elementary, middle, and high school students who empower and support each other. Peer Helpers are trained to recognize when a peer is in need, listen to them, maintain confidentiality, and assist them with emotional, social, and academic struggles. Our mission is to empower students to be academically, socially, and emotionally successful; to recognize and resolve conflict; to value diversity; and to be advocates for positive change and healthy choices. We want students to feel valued, accepted, and be free from negativity. The idea of peer support is not new, nor is it limited to the school setting. Many corporations have job mentoring programs, many court systems use conflict mediations, and many other professionals use the leadership skills that you’ll gain from participating in the Peer Helper Program. Students complete training sessions that are all about learning a set of skills to equip them to be the most effective, compassionate, knowledgeable helper possible.
