Hello!  My name is Katrina Powers and I am excited to become part of the Panther family.  I grew up in Etowah County and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education - Biology from JSU.  I then continued my education by earning a Master’s degree and an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Alabama.  I have continued to grow by taking graduate classes through Montana State University.  This will be my 20th year to teach science.  I started my teaching career in Rome, GA and I have recently left Gadsden City High School after teaching there for 14 years.  I have also had the opportunity to work through Gadsden State Community College to teach Dual Enrollment Biology.  I live in Rainbow City with my husband of almost 19 years, Bucky Powers, and my 14 year old daughter, Haley Powers.  We love to spend time with our family, being outside, playing basketball, lounging in hammocks and sitting around the fire pit.  We also love spending time with our Church family at Harvestfield.  I look forward to cheering on the Panthers both inside and outside the classroom!  #GoPanthers
