MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Southside High School is to make certain that each student realizes his or her own unique potential.  We strive to provide progressive instruction and a broad curriculum to ensure that all students meet state standards and are prepared for future challenges.  

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PICTURE DAY MONDAY 3/18.  Spring Pics for 9-11 grades, Cap & Gown pics for Seniors beginning at 8:00 am.  The photographer will provide caps and gowns. 

The final day to purchase a 2018-2019 yearbook will be Friday, March 22nd.  We will have a "Donut" forget your yearbook campaign on Monday, March 18. the first 100 student who purchase a yearbook will get a free donut. Drawing will be held through out the week 
for door prizes. There is a list of students who have previously purchased yearbooks outside the yearbook room. 

To the parents of 9th graders:  A consent form was sent home on Friday 3/8/2019,  for 9th graders to participate in a Scoliosis Screening.   Please return the form by March 13th if you would like your child to be screened.  Please note that a consent form has to be signed for your child to be screened.   Any questions please contact Nurse Reeves.

Report cards will go home with students on Friday, January 9th. The report card will show the student's grades for the past 9 weeks of school.  You will also notice a Term 1 Average on this report card. The Term 1 Average does not affect a student's final grade in any way.  It is simply just an average of the 1st 9 week and 2nd 9 week grades.  This just automatically prints on the report card.   
A students's final average will be calculated from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, 9 weeks grades and the final exam in May.  
If you have any questions, please contact the guidance counselors at the school.

12:00pm - begin broadcast of eclipse throughout school.
1:00pm - dismiss those students that have returned forms and purchased glasses to the Band/Soccer Field. If student has not returned form or purchased glasses, they will be allowed to watch in auditorium. Teachers and Admin will be supervising. Madison Moore will be in the band tower with speaker system talking the students through the event. 
1:45pm - return to classes
12:00pm - begin broadcast of eclipse throughout school.
