Mr. Weaver is in his seventh year as Director of Bands at Southside High School.  He serves as the conductor of the Wind Ensemble and director of The PRIDE of Southside Marching Band.  In addition to his responsibilities as band director, Mr. Weaver also teaches classes in music theory, appreciation, and composition.  A 2012 graduate of Jacksonville State University, Mr. Weaver earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and is currently pursuing a MM in Music Education from the University of West Georgia.  An active musician, Mr. Weaver currently serves as Principal Tubist for the Alabama Winds.  In 2018, Mr. Weaver was awarded the Citation of Excellence by the National Band Association.

While at Southside, Mr. Weaver has worked to continue the band program's long tradition of musical and personal excellence.  2017 marked the 30th consecutive year of superior ratings for the Southside Band.  Due to the continued growth of the program, the Southside Wind Ensemble was created in 2015 as an additional, audition-based concert ensemble and has earned all superior ratings since its founding.  In 2018, the Wind Ensemble was featured at the Alabama Music Educator's Conference.

Under Mr. Weaver's leadership, The PRIDE has been featured on national television in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, the San Antonio Fiesta Flambeau, and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  In March of 2020, The PRIDE will perform in the Chicago Saint Patrick's Day Parade.

Mr. Weaver is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Alabama Bandmasters Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the International Tuba Euphonium Association.  He and his wife Haley (a kindergarten teacher at Highland Elementary) met while in the band at JSU and have a two-year-old son, Benton.  The Weavers live in Southside and are member of Rainbow Presbyterian Church in Rainbow City, AL.
