The Fine Arts faculty and students want to invite you and your families to our first ever community holiday show, the "Southside Christmas Spectacular"!  The show will be held here at the Biddle Auditorium on Thursday, Dec. 13th at 6 pm and will feature performances by the Southside Symphonic and Jazz Bands, the Wind Ensemble, the Theatre Department & Visual Arts Studio as well as guest performances by the SES "Shining Stars" & the JSJ "Joyful Juniors". 

There's lots of fun for the whole family including hot chocolate and cookies for sale at 
intermission as well as craft activities for the kids.  
Not to mention the pièce de rèsistance, a reading of "The Night Before Christmas" by Mr. Zane Smith himself 
accompanied by the Wind Ensemble.  Your kids are NOT going to want to miss this! 

Donations are being collected for "Toys for Tots" and admission is $5, not to exceed $20 per family. 
 Please, come out to support our students and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.

Coronation Dance will be December 7th, at The Venue in Gadsden. Dress is Semi-Formal. Lead out will begin at 8:00 pm. In order to attend you must turn in a signed Coronation Agreement. You must also purchase a ticket for $30 from Mrs. Blackwell or Mrs. Moore. Tuxedo Inn is running a special for Southside High School Students.  
Coronation is a closed event.  If you have not bought a ticket, you will not be allowed in.  Mr. and Mrs. Southside will be announced via Southside Facebook after the event.

Report cards will go home with students on Friday, January 9th. The report card will show the student's grades for the past 9 weeks of school.  You will also notice a Term 1 Average on this report card. The Term 1 Average does not affect a student's final grade in any way.  It is simply just an average of the 1st 9 week and 2nd 9 week grades.  This just automatically prints on the report card.   
A students's final average will be calculated from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, 9 weeks grades and the final exam in May.  
If you have any questions, please contact the guidance counselors at the school.

12:00pm - begin broadcast of eclipse throughout school.
1:00pm - dismiss those students that have returned forms and purchased glasses to the Band/Soccer Field. If student has not returned form or purchased glasses, they will be allowed to watch in auditorium. Teachers and Admin will be supervising. Madison Moore will be in the band tower with speaker system talking the students through the event. 
1:45pm - return to classes12:00pm - begin broadcast of eclipse throughout school.
