I am a proud graduate of Southside High School, Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University. While at Jacksonville State University, I received my Bachelor's degree in education in English and History and my Master's degree in Language Arts. I began my teaching career in 1998 at Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Alabama where I taught regular and honors 9th and 10th grade English for four years. I began teaching in Etowah County in the year 2002 at West End High School where I taught grades 7-10, regular and honors English. With the dream of being back at my alma mater and close to home, I transferred to Southside High School in 2006. I teach 9th grade Pre-AP English and 9th grade English, and I serve as a senior sponsor. I am married to Josh Sullivan, and we have three special children: John Riley who is 10, Audrey Kate who is 7 and Sanders who is 4 years old. We are also in the process of adopting our sweet Hudson from China, hopefully by the end of the year. In addition, we have two cats named Lilly Bell and Stitch. We are members of North Gadsden Baptist Church and have been for 18 years.
With that being said, I am looking forward to another new and exciting school year. Every year brings different students and different challenges. This always results in immeasurable rewards.
